Repair of shock absorbers

After determining that the shock absorber is defective or has failed, you should first check whether the shock absorber has leaked oil or has traces of old oil leakage.

The oil seal gasket and sealing gasket are broken and damaged, and the nut of the oil storage cylinder head is loose. It may be that the oil seal and sealing gasket are damaged and fail, and the seal should be replaced with a new one. If the oil leakage still cannot be eliminated, the shock absorber should be pulled out, and if you feel that there is a hairpin or the weight is different, then further check whether the gap between the piston and the cylinder barrel is too large, whether the shock absorber piston connecting rod is bent, and whether the surface of the piston connecting rod and the cylinder barrel are scratched or stretched.

If the shock absorber does not leak oil, check whether the shock absorber connection pin, connecting rod, connection hole, rubber bushing, etc. are damaged, desoldered, cracked or falling off. If the above inspection is normal, the shock absorber should be further disassembled, check whether the matching gap between the piston and the cylinder barrel is too large, whether the cylinder barrel is strained, whether the valve seal is good, whether the valve disc and the valve seat fit tightly, and whether the extension spring of the shock absorber is too soft or broken, and repair or replacement according to the situation.

In addition, the shock absorber will make a sound failure in actual use, which is mainly caused by the collision between the shock absorber and the leaf spring, frame or shaft, the rubber pad is damaged or falling off, and the shock absorber dust cylinder deformation, insufficient oil and other reasons, the cause should be found out and repaired.

The shock absorber should be tested on a special test bench after inspection and repair, and when the resistance frequency is 100±1mm, the resistance of its extension stroke and compression stroke should meet the regulations. For example, the maximum resistance of the emancipation CAl091 extension stroke is 2156~2646N, and the maximum resistance of the compression stroke is 392~588N; The maximum resistance of Dongfeng car extension stroke is 2450~3038N, and the maximum resistance of compression stroke is 490~686N.
If there are no test conditions, we can also use an empirical practice, that is, using an iron rod into the lower lifting ring of the shock absorber, which indicates that the shock absorber is basically normal.
